Oil and Gas Industries of Oman

Since Oman began commercial oil production in 1967, oil has been the backbone of the Omani economy. Oman’s modern and extensive infrastructure, which includes electric utilities, roads, public education, and medical facilities, is supported by the oil business.

Oman has the capacity to produce one million barrels of crude oil and condensates per day. Oman’s oil reserves are largely heavy crude, and China is the country’s primary export market. The government of Oman gets around 70% of its annual budget from oil and gas earnings, thanks to taxation and joint ownership of some of the most prolific fields, and the industry contributes 30% of the country’s GDP.

Oman also has natural gas reserves, which might be a major source of industrial expansion in the next years.
